RELIGIOUS PRACTICES
There are five pillars that Muslims should follow. These Five Pillars help Muslims worship Allah and lead good lives.
1. Shahadah
-Declaration of faith in Allah as the only God.
-"There is no god but God , and Muhammad is the messenger of God" This declares that God is the only divinity.
2. Salat
-Ritual prayer. Praying five times a time from early in the morning until late at night.
-Muslims must perform the prayers in the direction of the sacred shrine at the center of the mosque at Mecca, called the Ka'ba.
3. Sawm
-Fasting. Muslims fast every year of the Muslim month called Ramadan.
-the daily fast performed
-refrain from food, drink, and sexual intimacy during daylight hours so that they practice discipline and experience poverty.
4. Zakah
-Charity tax. Muslims are required to give money to charity to support the needy.
-entails contributing wealth, usually one-fortieth of their annual income for the poor.
5. Haji
-The great pilgrimage. They should make the pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime.
-But only a few percentage achieve this because so many are too poor.

CORE VALUES
There are six Pillars of Faith in Islam. Along with the Five Pillars of Islam, these are the basis of Islamic faith.
1. Belief in Allah as the one true God
-Islam is monotheistic; they believe that there is only one God. In Arabic, Allah means simply "the God."
2. Angels are God's messengers.
-Angels play a fundamental role in Islam. The Arabic word for angel, malak, means "messenger." Angels' duties include communicating revelations from God, glorifying God, and taking a person's soul at death.
3. Muhammad was a messenger from God, as were the other prophets before him.
-Islam believes that there were prophets before Muhammad, such as the Biblical Adam, Enoch, Noah, and even Jesus. Their belief is that Muhammad was the last true prophet of God.
4. The Quran is a Holy Book from God.
-Islam believes that the Quran was from God. They also believe that other religious texts like the Bible are also books from God.
5. The Last Day
-This is the belief that the world will eventually come to an end. Muslims believe that on this day, there will be judgement and resurrection.
6. Destiny
-While Muslims believe in free will as a defining characteristic of humans(they believe that angels do not have free will), they also believe that Allah knows their destiny.
7. Prohibition of Things
-The Quran prohibits many things, such as drinking alcohol, smoking and drugs.
